In the adsorption of potassiumethyl xanthate onpyrite at pH 3, it was observed that approximately half of thecommercial potassium ethyl xanthate remains in the solution andthe remianing xanthate is not as xanthate ion; it is in the form ofdecomposition products of xanthate ion. Addition of Na2increases the xanthate ion concentration in the commercial ethylxanthate solution.
