Norddeutsche buys downstream copper operations

Germany's Norddeutsche Affinerie (NA) has acquired Prymetall, Europe's fourth largest copper roller, from local industrial conglomerate William Prym. The acquisition comprises Stolberg-based Prymetall and its 50 percent share in Schwermetall Halbzeugwerk, the world's largest hot rolling copper mill.The cost of the acquisition was not disclosed, but NA estimates its annual turnover will increase by ?240 m as a result. It is funding the buyout from its own balance sheet.
