The papers published in this issue of Economic Policy were presented to the Panel at three different meetings. One was discussed in October 2006 at the Helsinki Panel meeting, which was hosted by the Bank of Finland and disrupted by an airline strike that made it impossible for many participants to attend. Since transatlantic travellers were most affected by the strike, a smaller meeting was held in February 2007 in New York at the New York Federal Reserve Bank of New York. One of the papers published in this issue was presented there, and the other two were presented at the April 2007 Frankfurt Panel meeting, hosted by the Bundesbank.
