EU approval for steel mega merger has strings attached

The merger between Usinor, Arbed and Aceralia to form the world's largest steel company was approved by the European Commission on November 21.The Commission said the deal could go ahead subject to the sale of galvanizing and distribution companies in France, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg and Italy.
