BUDDING ENGINEERS FIRE HOMEMADE CATAPULTS IN PARLIAMENT

On the 11 March, schoolchildren from the capital's secondary schools used homemade catapults to fire projectiles around the Houses of Parliament, as part of National Science and Engineering Week. Stephen Williams MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary for Innovation, Universities and Skills sponsored the Trebuchet Challenge event, which was organised by the Engineering and Technology Board (ETB) and The Smallpeice Trust. Attended by over thirty 13-14 year olds from five different schools across London, the Trebuchet Challenge was designed to inspire some of the UK's brightest young engineering talent.
