ICF COMPANIES MOVE TO OUTLAW MISUSE OF 'FIRE DOCUMENTATION'

The Intumescent Coatings Forum (ICF), a meeting point for the manufacturers and suppliers of intumescent systems for the fire protection of structural steel, has made a fresh commitment to raising the standard of installed intumescent fire protection in buildings. The new vision for the industry means that ICF members have agreed to ensure that, by 2010, all intumescent coatings used for the fire protection of steelwork are (a) tested and assessed in order to conform to European standards and certified by an independent third party (b) installed by certified third party applicators, and (c) subjected to independent inspection of completed works, as appropriate.
