Oil:Rising Demand For Light and Clean Products

Oil has become a high risk commodity in today's international economic scenario.Political tensions, threats and embargos, and even hur-ricanes all collaborate to perpetuate this continuing uncertainty.During the course of the last twelve months, the price of a barrel of crude has oscillated from a minimum of 43 dollars to a maximum of 67 dollars, and now appears to have settled at a level of 60 dollars.The demand, in China and India principally, has increased greatly during recent years.In the period between 1994 and 2004 China's daily demand for oil has jumped from 3 to 6.5 million barrels a day: this great increase has been largely due to rapid industrial growth, which accounts for two thirds of China's national oil consumption figure.
