A New Method for the Determination of Iron Ore Reducibility under Fluidized Bed Conditions

A new laboratory method was developed to determine the reduction kinetics of iron ore fines under conditions relevant for industrial processes which use the fluidized bed technology. At ambient and elevated pressures the reduction rates were obtained from detailed gas analysis (FT-IR spectroscopy). Two different iron ores were tested and the kinetics of iron ore reduction and reducibility compared.
