In developing design formula for AISE Technical Report No.32, The Design and Maintenance of Basic Oxygen Furnaces, an analysis of the stresses due to a gravity load experienced during the rotation of a BOF vessel from the vertical to empty invented position provided information on the load variation in the support system due to flexibility of the trunnion ring.
