The use of specific surface index in analyzing the morpho-structural organization of phytoplankton

摘要

A comparative study of the level of quantitative development of phytoplankton groups of different sizes in areas with various hydrochemical regimes of the northwestern Black Sea and adjacent water bodies was carried out. In phytoplankton of water bodies of the northwestern Black Sea area the share of cells with a greater specific surface and more rapid metabolic rate increases. The interrelationship between the morpho-structural organization of phytoplankton and concentration of biogenic substances in the studied areas was analyzed.
