Whilst the installation of fire protection for structural steelwork, using fire resisting boards, sprays, or reactive coatings, is well documented, what is not so well-known and understood is the best approach to be taken with regard to its repair, renovation and/or reinstatement. In order, therefore, to help clarify matters, the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) has produced a new Technical Guidance Document (No. 010) on the subject.
