CIBSE PUBLICATIONS: COMPLAYING WITH PART L

The issue of energy consumption and the built environment is continually hitting the headlines, emphasising the role of and existing buildings in reducing both consumption and carbor emissions, and highlighting the importance of ensuring that new industry guidelines are met. Helping to set out what can be done to improve the energy performance of buildings, the publications from CIBSE related to Part L offer advice and guidance on energy consumption, assessment and metering. The introduction of Part L (2006) from 6 April was supported by 'second tier' publications from CIBSE which provide guidance on standard tests for design software and the competence of operators. The publications provide an explanatory source of reference for professionals such as architects, facilities managers, developers, surveyors and building services engineers responsible for compliance under Part L.
