A side from meeting individual requests, one of the biggest challenges facing specifiers is balancing the demands of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) with the need to create a harmonious environment for people without visual impairments. But this is a task that we relish and many people are surprised that both demands need not be mutually exclusive. It is possible to create a colour scheme that is useful in guiding the way for someone who is partially sighted and yet aesthetically pleasing for everyone else or in keeping with a corporate brand.
