Amman-Iraqi oil ministry officials and executives from 30 of the international oil companies that qualified for Iraq’s first post-war bid round are to meet in Istanbul, Turkey, in mid-February to review tender documents for the six oil and two gas fields offered for development under long-term service contracts. Semi-official newspaper al-Sabah quoted oil ministry spokesman Asim Jihad as saying January 20 that the ministry had fixed a mid- February date for the discussions with 30 of the 35 originally qualified companies that bought data packages following a London road show in October last year.
