Enel wins green light for Sicily LNG terminal

Austin, Texas-A Sicilian services conference has given the go-ahead to Italian utility Enel to build an 8 billion cubic meter/year LNG terminal in Porto Empedocle, on the coast of the Strait of Sicily, CEO Fulvio Conti said in a statement January 20. “The services conference has just given the green light for the Porto Empedocle regasification terminal, one of the instruments which Italy must provide in order to become more self-reliant and independent in its flow of imports,” Conti said.
