Nine months after Vitol led the pack in storing jet fuel at sea, the Swiss trader is rebuilding its European floating storage position in dramatic style. So far this month, Vitol has bought a staggering 510,000 tons of jet in the Platts window - on par with Europe's entire 1 million ton per month import requirement - at a time when regional airline demand is in its winter doldrums.
