Billionaire Warren Buffett opened a sizable 1.28 million share position in Exxon Mobil during the third quarter at a cost of $88 million, according to Berkshire Hathaway's latest filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The investment giant also trimmed his holdings in ConocoPhillips by 11% to roughly 57.4 million shares. The stake was valued at nearly $2.6 billion at the end of the quarter.
