Shipbuilders to devise advanced design system for 21st century ships

A consortium of leading ship design and construction companies, including Newport News Shipbuilding, has joined forces with a leader in interactive computer graphic systems, Intergraph Corporation, to develop an advanced engineering and ship design software product. The goal of this project is to reduce by 50 the time and cost of designing ships.
