Fairfield buys BP's old NW Hutton oil field

London-UK minnow Fairfield Energy has acquired a package of UK North Sea upstream interests that include BP's North West Hutton oil field, which ceased production in 2003. In a statement, Fairfield said it agreed to take 100 ownership of License P184, Block 211/27a License P474, Block 211/27c from current owners BP, Shell, ExxonMobil, and Cieco Exploration and Production for an undisclosed price. The transaction is subject to UK government approvals.
