Maurice Storey - taking a different perspective on safety

In April, the UK's Marine Safety Agency and Coastguard Agency were merged into the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. Maurice Storey is the first Chief Executive of the new agency. A young 54 in appearance and spirit, Maurice is oozing enthusiasm for his new role. Although his background is in merchant shipping, he is keen to learn about the other aspects of his new position and is taking a hands-on approach to his education, for example by taking part in search and rescue operations in a coastguard helicopter.
