Rapid in vitro Plant Regeneration from Nodal Segments of Vitex negundo L. - A Woody Medicinal Shrub

Multiple shoot induction in Vitex negundo L. was achieved from nodal explants on Murashige and Skoog's (MS) medium fortified with 6 mg/l BAP. The shoots were subcultured after three weeks of inoculation for elongation on the same medium supplemented with gib-berellic acid (2 mg/l). Elongated shoots were excised and subcultured for rooting on half strength MS medium fortified with NAA (1.5 mg/l).
