On the Point-Wise J-Value of axisymmetric plane cracks

A point-wise value of the J-integral for a radiallyexpanding plane axisymmetric crack, which is path independentan yields the energy release rate, has been derived from Eshelby'senergy momentum tensor [8] taken in cylindrical coordinates. Inparticular the area integral in the expression for J by Carpenter etal. [2] has not been found to be zero, as recently advanced byJ?nson and Nilsson [7], but in agreement with results of others,e.g. Bergkvist and Lan Huong [4].
