New York—Another sizable US East Coast refinery has been shut by the global recession’s knock on demand and a weak outlook. US refining major Valero Energy said November 20 it will permanently close its 210,000 b/d refinery in Delaware City, Delaware, due to unfavorable economics, significant capital requirements and high operating costs.
