摘要

This paper presents a multiple sources battery charging system for portable devices. It integrates the energy sources from a photovoltaic (PV) module, wind turbine generator (WTG) and AC adopter to charge a battery to prolong the battery utilization period and reduce the grid power consumption, and simultaneously gain the salient features of increasing the practicability and value of the portable device, save energy and reduce CO_2 generation. The proposed system has the following features: (1) Multiple PWM converters for converting the PV and wind power and controlling the charging current of the adapter. (2) Effective energy management strategy for utilizing renewable power, reducing grid power and prolonging battery life cycle. (3) Intelligent maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control of the PV and WTG for increasing the conversion efficiency. (4) Three-stage charge of the battery to ensure the highest state of charge (SOC). A prototype system is designed and built, the effectiveness of the proposed system is confirmed with some experimental results.
