Visible and Nearhyphen;Ultraviolet Absorption Spectra of Carbon Subsulfide

The electronic absorption spectra of carbon subsulfide, C3S2, in the vapor phase for lgr;2000 Aring; is presented. Vibrational analyses are given for two observed electronic systems. The first electronic system consists of multiple bands in the 4300ndash;5300 Aring; region and the second electronic system, of approximately 20 bands, is in the 2200ndash;2550 Aring; region. Rapid photolysis of the carbon subsulfide by continuum sources precludes studies in the vacuum ultraviolet region.
