In the recently published study by Jackson et al,1 the authors compare the impact of strabismus surgery in adults over time. Using a repeated measures design, data were collected from all participants at 6 weeks preoperative (Tl), 3 months (T2) and 18 months (T3) postoperative appointments. The authors used a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA.) to compare changes between the three time points; however, this is inappropriate because it assumes that the measurements taken from the same person over time are independent.
