Angular momentum projection operators and molecular bound states

摘要

A new method is presented which fully adapts a Cartesian basis set (via projection techniques) to rotational symmetry. The method is intended as a practical tool to make use of the convenience of a Cartesian basis (simplicity of the Hamiltonian, matrix elements, etc.) while at the same time enjoying the advantages of rotational symmetry adaptation.
