The title reaction has been studied using laser magnetic resonance detection of HO2radicals in a discharge flow system. For the range 403gsim;Tgsim;232 K,k1= (7.9plusmn;1) (T/300)minus;0.83plusmn;0.18times;10minus;12cm3moleculeminus;1sminus;1. Upper limits are placed on the rate constants for the reactions of (HO2+NO) that yield HNO and HOONO:thinsp;k0.0012k1. Measurements have also been made that indicate that the reactions of HO2with CO and N2O are very slow at 300 K. These rate constants are less than about 5times;10minus;17cm3moleculeminus;1sminus;1.
