A theoretical calculation for the cross sectionHelpar;23Srpar;plus;Helpar;23Srpar;rarr;Helpar;11Srpar;plus;Heplus;plus;eis carried out using the impact parameter method, and with and without the approximation of straightline trajectory. It is shown that the accuracy of wavefunctions is not so important and the ionization cross section is determined mainly by the interatomic potential between the two colliding particles. The validity of the semiempirical treatment for the processHelpar;23Srpar;plus;Xrarr;Helpar;11Srpar;plus;Xplus;eby Ferguson, by Bateset al., and by Joneset al.is discussed.
