Diffusion coefficients for Tlplus;in singlehyphen;crystal KCl have been determined in air over a temperature range of 233 to 727deg;C from concentration gradients measured with the aid of electron microbeam probe spectroscopy. The variation of the diffusion coefficients with temperature providesD0of 5.81 10minus;11and 1.34 10minus;3cm2sol;sec, and activation energies of 0.24 and 1.30 eV in temperature ranges of 233ndash;457 and 457ndash;727deg;C, respectively. The enthalpy of Schottky pair formation is thus 2.12 eV.
