On the calculation of transfer rates between impurity states in solids

We comment on the calculation of energy transfer in solids, showing that the calculation can be done to infinite order in the phononhyphen;impurity interaction using the smallhyphen;polaron transformation. When the final result is expanded, the results of low order perturbation theory are recovered, and, in addition, new terms are found which are due to cross products.
