摘要

For Bi2molecules in argon matrices, a new laserhyphen;induced fluorescence system with origin at 16thinsp;893 cmminus;1has been observed. The upper stateAprime; lies 826 cmminus;1below the wellhyphen;establishedAstate. A progression of six bands of the resonance Raman spectrum of Bi2is also reported. More concentrated matrices display an extremely weak fluorescence which is very probably theBndash;Xsystem of Bi4, previously observed in absorption. A sequence of resonance Raman bands with an irregular intensity pattern is attributed to an unknown Binmolecule.
