The infrared spectrum ofnhyphen;octanehyphen;1,1,1,8,8,8hyphen;d6has been obtained at liquid nitrogen temperature from 1500 cmmdash;1to 600 cmmdash;1. An assignment of the vibrations into methyl and methylene motions is made.
