摘要

Quenching ofI2lpar;B3Pgr;0uplus;, vprime;equals;25rpar;by I(2P3sol;2) atoms has been measured in a fluorescence experiment at elevated temperatures. TheI2*sngbnd;Iquenching cross section is (120plusmn;45) Aring;2. This very large cross section is attributed to the formation of longhyphen;lived I3collision complexes. Vibrational relaxation ofI2*by I atoms is not observed.
