The job description of CLIC Innovation Oy,established in September 2015,is a combination of bioecon-omy,cleantech and digital-isation.The company came into being in the merger of two of Finland's Strategic Centers for Science,Technology and Innovation(SHOK)-CLEEN Oy and the Finnish Bioeconomy Cluster FIBIC Oy.CLIC's operation covers product development and innovation in their entirety,from basic research to demonstrations and commercialisation.The company's establishment was based on the desire of Finland's industries and research community to speed up the production of research data,refine that data into international business and increase the impact of Finnish research thereby.In other words,the new company is tasked with getting business enterprises and research communities together and,in its capacity as an innovation enterprise,to do this more efficiently than the more narrowly focused SHOKs have been able to.
