Unless they are prominent features at the start or finishing point of a journey many structures on the railway willremain unseen to the traveller as they flash past, through or (in the case of this structure) over, them.On the Brighton main line the view from the Ouse Viaduct near Balcombe is a well-known feature to the thousands of commuters who cross it daily, although few lift their eyes from the paper for the brief high level panoramic view of the Sussex countryside. Fewer still will appreciate the nature of the architectural gem that they are crossing.
