Forty-six seed lines ofLolium (perenne #xD7; multiflorum)var. #x2018;Grasslands Manawa#x201A; harvested in various regions of New Zealand and including all seven generations of seed increase were grown as spaced plants at Palmerston North, with control lines ofL. multiflorumvar. #x2018;Grasslands Paroa#x201A; andL, perennevar. #x2018;Grasslands raunui#x201A;. Estimates were obtained of germination, fluorescence, awning, date of head emergence, aftermath heading, habit, leaf width, winter and summer growth, and non-persistence.
