Lumbosacral plexopathy secondary to hyperfractionated radiation therapy:A case presentation and literature review

AbstractDamage to the lumbosacral plexus is an infrequent complication of radiation therapy to pelvic or spinal lesions. Described is a case of neurologic injury presenting in a young man treated definitively for a paraspinal soft tissue sarcoma. Neurologic symptoms and signs were limited to lower motor neuron deficits without sensory or sphincter disturbances. There remains no evidence of recurrence of the primary lesion.
