Among the mesenchymal skin tumours, the incidence of lipoma is very high in dogs (Strafuss and Bozarth, 1973). The geriatric female patients suffer more from solitary iipomas in comparison to younger animals (Theilen and Madewell, 1979). Further its incidence is high in pure breeds. The present study places on record a case of solitary lipoma in the sub-temporal region just below the base of ear in an Alsatian dog, which was successfully treated surgically.
