The Key Laboratory of Molecular Virology is affiliated to the CAS Wuhan Institute of Virology. Its research objects are viruses having a critical impact on agriculture and human health. By using methods of molecular virology and bio-technology, the lab investigates the process of viral infection and its interaction with the hosts at molecular level. In addition, the lab also focuses on development of diagnostics, prevention and therapeutic techniques for the control of viral diseases. Main research directions include functional genomics of viruses; the molecular mechanism of the interaction between a virus and its host; diagnostic, prevention and controlling technologies against viral diseases.
