Pigs play an important role in the economy of our country as it converts feed into flesh very efficiently. Optimum production from pigs can only be obtained through efficient reproduction, the main component of wh ich is conception rate, Research reports have shown that conception rate may be affected by season and difference in climatic condition (Steinbach, 1976). Since exotic breeds of pigs from temperate zones have been imported to our country for cross breeding purpose, a scientific analysis oftheir reproductive efficiency seems important, reports on which are scanty.
