Everyone is very excited at National Grid's training centre at Eakring. Situated by the site of Britain's first onshore oil field, the sprawling complex is buzzing with activity. The defunct "nodding donkeys", last used in 1989, stand still, making stark outlines against the not-quite-Spring-yet sky. But in contrast, just a few metres away, diggers roll ploddingly about their task and buckets swing from them with purpose. Something is being built here - something big.
