First for new UK workboat builder

Since opening for business in May 1998, commercial boat builders Cladar Ltd has completed its first vessel, and two others are in build. Formed by naval architect and RINA member, Ian Darley, the aim is to build and market a new range of multi-purpose work vessels for use by port authorities, marina operators and marine contractors. After just a few months preparation, to set up the necessary facilities, construction started in earnest at premises within the Wicormarine boatyard at Portchester, UK.
