The authors have found it possible to construct and use a system for the measurement of the performance characteristics of anti-scatter grids in a hospital environment, coming as close as possible to the International Electrotechnical Commission standard on the subject. The precision of the results obtained for a given grid and the consistency between similar grids are promising. The use of a reference grid to check alignment would have been desirable and efforts to obtain one are in progress.
