In this paper three models of low profile circularly-polarized microstrip antenna are presented and discussed. These antennas are intended for Circularly-Polarized Synthetic Aperture Radar (CP-SAR) application in L-Band (1.27GHz). The design and fabrication process has aim to fulfill the challenging specification for CP-SAR airborne application. The three models are equilateral triangular antenna, elliptical patch antenna and elliptical annular ring antenna. All of the models employed proximity-coupled feed as the feeding method, dual feeding method for the equilateral triangular antenna, and single feeding method for the elliptical patch and elliptical annular ring antennas. Both simulated and measured results are presented.
