In medical fields, more and more X-ray TV systems have come to be digitalized and networked, so that they can provide more and more diversified applications, ensuring higher diagnostic throughput. This situation has brought forth the recent development of the Shimadzu SONIALVISION digital table system. The noteworthy features of this newly developed SONIALVISION system, which provides more extensive fields of applications, include the tomographic DR (digital radiography) functions utilizing image intensifiers, the imaging system having the maximum moving range of 198 cm, the fluoroscopy-to-radiography switching time of only 0.5 second at the shortest, the tabletop with the height adjusting functions, and the completely flat tabletop made of carbonfiber-reinforced plastics (CFRP).
