USTR's TPP Implementation Teams Focused On Fact Finding, Not U.S. Agenda

The U.S. government teams that are traveling to Trans-Pacific Partnership countries to discuss implementation are focused on gathering information about the status of their domestic ratification processes and how they intend to implement their obligations in areas such as intellectual property (IP), rather than pushing U.S. demands for how they should do so, according to informed sources. While these teams include officials from the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, there are clear indications that USTR has not yet developed detailed demands on how it would like other countries to implement their TPP obligations.
