This year, the Hobby Industry Association (HIA) will capitalize on the retail momentum and excitement created by its annual celebration of National Craft Month (NCM) in March with the addition of two more promotions during the early summer and autumn seasons. The time frames were selected to take advantage of seasonal crafting themes to increase awareness of crafts, and ultimately, to positively affect store traffic and sales throughout the year. To further support HIA's efforts to gain local and national publicity at these times, each promotion builds up to a day of hands-on crafting events in retail stores across the United States and Canada.
