When two books on the same subject which flatly contradict oneanother come to his hands at the same time the reviewer has thechoice of either taking sides or examining each one dispassionately. Asin the present case one book is by a fundamentalist Doctor of Divinity,and the other by a Doctor of Medicine and Science, an opportunity isoffered of examining the nature of the bitter conflict of opinion betweena certain section of American theologians and the supporters of thedoctrine of evolution.
