Plant resistance to the grass grubCostelytra zealandica(Coleoptera:Scarabaeidae)

The growth rates ofCostelytra zealandicalarvae feeding on the roots of grasses grown in pots and boxes were studied over three seasons. A total of 23 species of grasses was tested. Larval growth rates were least in larvae feeding onArrhenatherum elatiusand on one cultivar ofPoa pratensis.
